2012 is the year of the Double Dragon…
and it's gonna be a kickass year here at the Upitup stage! 

We're starting it off with an awesome new free album by London based artist Benjamin Jackson.
"2" is a 6 track EP and his second release to date, after his fabolous first audiocassette release on his own label The Analogue Quadrant, Exhibit Cube has sold out (but I got one!)

Dear masses,

Eight gr8 free albums and another wrinkle on our bottom is not such a bad result at the end of another dazzling year. Only the finest music by who we consider absolute top artists made it into our catalog this year: The Carrier Wave, The Courier, The Plugexpert, The Goon, The Cosmic Analog Ensemble, Mr. Birthday, and Mr. Atzeni kept our minds dirty and our hearts off beat. (Not to mention our beloved disc & mp3 jockeys who contributed some serious mixes: Vernon LeNoir, PP Roy, Captain Johnson, Jonas Natterer, Konrad Kuhn...)

We'd like to thank our supporters for helping us turn 2011 into a extraordinary and productive year. May your balls sweat sweet spring time flower smell.

We started 2011 with The Carrier Wave and so we're gonna finish 2011 with The Carrier Wave! 3) The lead singer of the Zombina and the Skeletons, Zombina herself,  made us an unmissable dj-set!, where "unmissable" means missing it is a misdemeanor.
4) Tracky was awarded a cease and desist christmas postcard from the legalese-enthusiasts at the New York Times for his tribute to the "Arts" section of the world famous toilet paper substitute in developing countries: what a christmas present!!!

1) A copy of Dragan Espenschied's new record "Education of the Noobz - live in Stoccarda". Released as a bonus to Upfree here on Upitup earlier this year, Education of the Noobz live version really unveils Espenschied's impressive skills as a composer. Perfect gift for music collectors.

2) A printout of "How Free is Free? Netlabels and the Politics of Online Music Distribution" by Leo Merz alias Roglok. In his text Roglok examines the history of Copyright and Intellectual Property and their role in today's cultural production.

3) A limited edition, glow-in-the-dark Tracky Birthday t-shirt, designed by Sebastian Haslauer. Better known as Hasi Intl.™ he already appeared on Tracky's New Album as the guy singing about "Secretary Love". He's on internet TV right now, you can watch his weekly show "Ways to feel better" on the Arte website. Order the shirt on Tracky's release page (scroll down).
