Notes
Two years after the release of "Meccani$mo" (upfree14), Pierlo is back in time with "Saturday Night Sleeper", a 30 minute-long album containing 10 completely new tracks by Upitup's founding father.
Compared to his previous album, the musical style has thouroughly gone under deep reconstruction - far away from what Pierlo has been doing until now - with a fancy flair of dancefloor-combatible beats sorrounded by Pierlo's typical touching melodies and restless basslines. "It's not that I'm actually taking the distance from what I've been doing until now," - says Pierlo - "rather that I've finally realized how important it is to be able to establish a direct connection with the audience when playing live, performing music that can be enjoyed in real-time and not treating them like if they were listening to the stuff with headphones in their salon". Livesets being a key aspect of his musical production approach, Pierlo has developed a unique blend of newish disco and put it under the uncool name of "Nerdstep". Uncool!
"Daje De Zion is the soundtrack to the end of the world," - Tracky Birthday says - "it delivers a fatal and romantic (the original meaning!) feeling without being cheesy or bombastic. It makes me sad the good way, like the sun going down. I would have named it 'Future Nostaligia'..."
